Sarah’s operates two separate programs, as well as a special summer program, in adjacent buildings on our three-acre campus. Our preschool program for children ages 18 months to pre-kindergarten and our after-school program and summer camp is intended for students from kindergarten through 12 years old.
ABOUT OUR SCHOOL
Sarah's Day Care Center, Inc. was established in 1981. We are a state licensed Type I child care center. The school is open to all children, regardless of race, nationality, or creed who may benefit from our type of program. The child must be at least 18 months old. Children entering the 18 month old class do not have to be potty trained.
Age groupings are generally based on the child's age at the begining of our Fall session. Groupings are flexible and a child may be moved from one group to another to meet the child's needs. Each group intermingles throughout the school day according to individual interests, needs, differences, and capabilities.
As child care professionals we take an active part in keeping in touch with the latest developments in the field of child development by participating in a continuous program of in-service education and outside studies. Most staff members are certified in CPR.
We are open Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. for preschool children and from 3:05 to 5:30 p.m. for after-school children.
We serve a morning and afternoon snack, usually fruit juice or milk with a bread product or substitute. Occassionally children will have the opportunity to cook or otherwise prepare a special food at school for a snack or a meal. A well-balanced and nourishing lunch is served daily in our kitchen. We do not serve breakfast.
